The White House highlighted the crucial role India played in the global supply of immunizations against Covid-19 and emphasised that the country is a prominent vaccine manufacturer, according to the news agency PTI.
In a news conference held here on Tuesday, Dr. Ashish Jha, the White House Coronavirus Response Coordinator, said: “(India) has been a key provider of vaccines because of its outstanding production capabilities.
He said that the QUAD collaboration on the coronavirus was valued by the Joe Biden administration. The QUAD group of countries—Australia, India, Japan, and the United States—regularly meets to discuss strategic security issues.
“In my view, India contributes significantly to the manufacture of vaccines worldwide. This is extremely important for the entire globe, not just India. According to PTI, he made this statement during the White House press conference.
Dr. Jha continued by arguing that the US government will continue to provide immunizations to all low-income and a number of low-and middle-income countries in the future.
Around 100 countries are qualified to get free vaccinations through COVAX, where we distribute the vaccines that are still available for donation, he added. According to Dr. Jha, every important variation that made it to the US came from outside.
